Android OS Built In Tools

Android comes with a suite of accessibility features. For users with low vision, these include, but are not limited to:

  • Visibility enhancements such as high contrast themes, fonts, and buttons.
  • Inverted colours / Negative colour scheme options.
  • Large text options.
  • Magnifier – This allows the user to easily zoom in and out across the operating system.
  • TalkBack – A screen-reader which turns all items on the screen into spoken feedback.
  • BrailleBack – A feature which turns all items on the screen into braille feedback.

These options can usually be found by opening the Settings app and selecting Accessibility.

Note: Features will vary across different software versions and device manufacturers.
