iOS Built In Tools

iOS comes with a suite of accessibility features. For users with low vision, these include, but are not limited to:

  • Inverted colours and high contrast options.
  • Colour filters.
  • Mouse and cursor accommodations.
  • Speak selected text.
  • Zoom – This allows the user to easily zoom in and out across the operating system.
  • VoiceOver – A screen-reader which turns all items on the screen into spoken or braille feedback.

These can be found by going to the Settings app and selecting Accessibility. In iOS 12 or earlier, it’s Settings, General, then Accessibility.
